Zomba Radio Islam listeners Association has elected new leadership

The new leadership has been elected during its 2019 review meeting held at Napini masjid in the city

In their acceptance speech through the newly elected publicity secretary, Muhammad Malenga said the focus will be on mobilizing resources with an aim of achieving efficient execution of the duties

Speaking after the elections, one of the advisors of the grouping Muhammad Hussein Matola challenged the newly elected members to have vision and work as a team.

“Many groups fail to execute their duties because of un visionary leadership and lack of team work,” says Matola

He added the members should understand that running such a group requires dedication and free giving since it is charity

Matola further said the committee should be open enough to able to welcome ideas from others and also cooperate with those who are rendering familiar activities with theirs to the community

He then called upon other members who wish to join the group to come in their large numbers, saying there are rewards in charity work

In accepting the challenge, publicity secretary Mussah Malenga said they are humbled with the trust people have shown for ushering them into such positions

“We will be meeting soon to put up strategies on how to achieve their set goals,” Malenga says

He said they will continue the charity works the group has been doing before, also establishing zones, and also doing other works which will enhance their visibility

He added that the committee understands that their work depends on the availability of financial and other material resources; therefore they will also focus on mobilizing resources from within and outside the group

The newly elected committee is expected to lead for the next 3 years
