Constitutional Court Extends MEC’s Evidence Submision
Constitutional court has extended the period for Malawi Electoral Commission MEC to record its sworn statements on elections case.
Making the ruling Judge Dingiswayo Madise gave MEC 5 days instead of the 14 days requested.
Madise then said hearing of the case will begin on 8th August not the scheduled for 29th July.
He ordered president of Malawi Congress Party MCP Dr Lazarus Chakwera to condemn and disassociate himself within 24 hours the statements which the publicity secretary Maurice Munthari made.
“The second petitioner should use the same medium where the statements were presented,” ruled Madise
