Government Requests NICE Trust To Review Mandate
Government has advised National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) Trust to review its mandate to include other equally important topical issues in its programs.
Secretary for Information, Civic Education and Communications Technology, Dr. Esmie Kainja was speaking in Salima where she opened a two day orientation workshop for NICE Trust new board members.
Dr. Kainja said “there were some social problems that require civic education to solve them such as child marriages and overpopulation than focusing only on democracy and good governance.”
Charles Lumanga, head of operations at National Authorisation Office in the Ministry of Finance advised the new board to ensure that the Trust’s management discharges its responsibilities with efficiency and professionalism.
Chairperson of the board, Dr. Zolomphi Nkowani hailed government for the financial and technical support it renders to the Trust.
