Hospital Blood Shortage-MBTS
Malawi Blood Transfusion Services MBTS has said there is shortage of blood in hospitals because people are not donating frequently.
The remarks were made by Head of MBTS for Lilongwe centre James Palapandu during a blood donation program that Airtel Malawi organized in the city.
Palapandu said the amount of blood that is required in hospitals per year is 120 thousand units but people only donate half of that quantity.
He appreciated the initiative Airtel Malawi made by organizing a blood donation program saying it will help patients a lot.
Palapandu then urged other organizations to emulate what Airtel Malawi did by contacting MBTS to donate blood.
In his remarks head of home broadband Misheck Kavuta at Airtel Malawi said the company thought of organizing a blood donation program to save lives
