UTM President Asks MEC Chair To Resign

UTM president Dr Saulos Chilima has asked Malawi Electoral Commission chairperson Justice Dr Jane Ansah to resign and pave the way for someone who will perform justly.

Chilima said this during press briefing that took place at UTM head office at Area 10 in Lilongwe.

He said if Ansah does not resign within five days the public will know the contents that UTM has written in the letter delivered to Ansah.

“Ansah announced the presidential elections fast without addressing all the problems and pleas that different people gave the commission,” Chilima stressed

He then called upon Malawians to exercise patience and maintain peace and order as they are waiting for the court ruling through the petition delivered, saying violence cannot solve anything.
