Government of Malawi to Allocate Funds for Trafficking in Persons Act
Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security say is geared to allocate funds for the implementation of Trafficking in Persons Act.
Speaking during the orientation workshop on the establishment of Trafficking in person’s Fund, Head of planning to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Cosmus Gawani, said the Ministry is committed to support the implementation of the act after noting that there is an increase in human trafficking in the country.
“The support will help to encourage other development partners to make some contribution to the fund,” said Gawani
In her remarks, Chairperson to Malawi Network Against Trafficking in Person, Mandinda Zungu, expressed gratitude towards the support rendered to their organization.
Zungu said the establishment of the fund shows a positive start of Malawians in the fight against Trafficking in Persons.
