Zimbabwean arrested over Malawian passport

Immigration department in Mangochi district has arrested a Zimbabwean national and two Malawians for attempting to access a Malawi passport and assisting him to get the document respectively.

Officer in charge for Mangochi immigration department Vivian Kasambo has identified the culprits as Memory Chibwanda (30) of Mulewa area in Zimbabwe, Musa Chibwanda (36) from Nsanyila village, who is a boy friend of the suspect and Muhammad Vasiri who is a middleman both from tradition authority Mponda in Mangochi district.

“Chibwanda was arrested at our offices when immigration personnel interviewed her,” said Kasambo.

He further said in the process the immigration office found that the suspect is a Zimbabwean national who pretended to be a Malawian in order to access a passport.
