MERA trains journalists on new energy construction law

Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority MERA says new law to regulate constructions in the energy sector will help bring sanity in the industry

Director of Fuel and Gas at MERA Alinafe Mkavea said this during a media sensitization workshop on developments in the energy sector held in Salima.

“Due to lack of legislation especially on construction of service stations Malawi has experienced the mushrooming of filling stations,” said Mkavea.

She said absence of the law was putting lives of people at risk.
