MCP supporters attacked

Southern Region chairman for Malawi Congress party MCP Peter Msimbi has complained over continued violence by DPP supporters in Nsanje district.

Msimbi was speaking this following the conflict which was caused by DPP supporters as they had damaged vehicles of Sidick Mia.

He said Nsanje Lalanje shadow MP Lawrence Sitolo and Mia were on a whistle stop tour as by-elections draw closer.

“We visited three areas and upon arrival at Bangula DPP supporters blocked the road and stoned Mia’s car on the window screen,” said Msimbi

Msimbi added that MCP supporters were seriously injured and they reported to Chilomo police.

He further said the victims were receiving treatment at the hospital after police gave them a medical report.
