Malawi’s 2025/2026 National Budget is K8.05T
Minister of finance simplex Chithyola Banda has announced the national budget of 8.05 trillion kwacha for 2025/2026 financial year which starts on 1st April this year
The Minister says government has allocated 162.9 billion kwacha to Malawi electoral commission for 16th September general elections
Chithyola Banda says 60 billion kwacha has been allocated for the purchase of maize and 53 billion kwacha for revamping ADMARC
Chithyola Banda says reforms on AIP are ongoing hence allocating 131 billion kwacha for the program
He has also unveiled K170 billion for salary increment and an increase of monthly stipend for interns from 80, 000 kwacha to 150, 000 kwacha
He said they have removed value added tax on bread and other confectioneries as well as second hand clothes
