Malawian Experts hail Gaza Ceasefire
Local experts have applauded the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas describing as a tool to help promote human rights for people of Palestine.
The agreement has been brokered by the Qatar and United State of American governments.
In separate interviews Majilis Ulama council of Malawi, Palestine Solidarity Movement and Center for Human Rights and Rehabilitation said the ceasefire is long overdue considering the destructions made on lives and property in Gaza.
However the three agrees to implementation of a two state solution as the only lasting solution to ending political situation in Palestine.
Secretary general for Majilis Ulama council of Malawi Muslim Abbas Vinjenje has applauded the mediators in the Gaza conflict including America’s incoming president and Qatar government.
Vinjenje says the Gaza conflict has portrayed the united among Muslims around the world and biasness of the west in handling the issue.
Similarly Palestine solidarity movement coordinator Asabuni Phiri prays and believes that the ceasefire is a permanent one.
Phiri says the ceasefire is a shame to Malawi government which has been supporting violence and violation of human rights.
Meanwhile Human rights activist Micheal Kaiyatsa of center for Human Rights and Rehabilitation emphasizes on the need for a long lasting solution in Gaza.
He said Israel’s dominance has fueled the conflict in Gaza while also emphasized on the need for the international community to be responsive to conflicts when they happen.
Since October 7 in 2023, Israel has killed over 45 thousand people in Gaza and injuring hundred thousand others.
