Fuel Supply to normalise by 20 January- TAM

Transporters Association of Malawi TAM says Malawians should expect fuel supply to normalize by 20th January as 60 trucks carrying about 2.4 million liters of petrol and diesel have been cleared by Tanzania Revenue Authority

TAM has said this a day after National Oil Company of Malawi requested for extra vehicles to transport 28.8 million litres of fuel from Tanga in Tanzania.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Islam, TAM spokesperson, Frank Banda, says as an association they do not have enough vehicles to carry the fuel.

Banda says the consignment is different from the usual volumes they usually transport adding that unlike Beira the roads to Tanga are hilly and require vehicles with strong engines.

Meanwhile, executive director of Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority MERA has told parliamentary committee that fuel supply will normalize by 20th January
