Immigration Department launches Strategic Plan for service delivery

Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services has launched its Strategic Plan for 2024–2029 aimed at reforming immigration management and enhancing service delivery in Malawi.

 

Minister of Homeland Security, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma said the Strategic Plan marks a turning point in the immigration management because will ensure efficiency, transparency, and innovation in service delivery.

 

He urged all stakeholders to support its implementation.”

 

Principal Secretary in Ministry of Homeland Security, Dr. Steven Kayuni, said the strategic plan will help in addressing contemporary migration challenges.

 

He said the plan provides a roadmap for transforming immigration into a system that meets both local and international standards

 

Commissioner for Operations, Mr. Fletcher Nyirenda highlighted the Department’s readiness to embrace technological advancements and prioritize client satisfaction.

 

Providing an overview of the plan, Commissioner for Administration, Vivien Kasambo, emphasized its key focus areas: streamlining processes, strengthening border security, enhancing human resource capacity, and adopting digital solutions to improve service delivery.
