Vice President leaves Malawi to Morocco Meeting
Vice President Dr Michael Usi has left Malawi for Morocco, where he will attend the African Consultation in preparation for the Third United Nations Oceans Conference on 9th October
Thereafter, the VP will hold bilateral talks with Moroccan government officials aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries following the inauguration of Malawi’s new Embassy in Rabat, Morocco.
Alongside government business the Vice President will proceed to Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan to attend the Pre-Conference of Parties (Pre-Co) to the UN Climate Change Conference slated for 10th to 12th October 2024 to discuss key solutions to the outstanding global climate issues ahead of COP29 in November.
Dr Usi is expected to return on Monday 14th October, 2024.
The high-level 2025 UN Conference will support Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
