Drivers protest against Police’s Shoot to kill

Drivers in Zomba have demonstrated against the shooting to death of their colleague by police officers

Former chairperson of the drivers Zuze Sabiti says the shoot to kill is uncalled for in a democratic society

Sabiti says is sad that the police officers decided to kill the driver when they contribute to the development of Malawi

On Sunday Police at 4 Miles Roadblock shot the driver of a Lorry when he breached the rules regarding the speed trap

This forced the drivers and communities to revenge but police officers fired teargas to disburse the angry people

However, in the morning of Monday 23rd September, 2024 the drivers blocked the road with stones and burning tires.

Reports indicated that the communities and drivers killed the police officer who shot the driver.
