Muslims donate wheelchairs to people with disability
Muslim Association of Malawi has been applauded for its efforts in elevating welfare of people in the country.
This was said by Benson Nyamula Assistance Rehabilitation officer at Malawi Against Polio MAP, when MAM district committee in Xomba donated wheel chairs to people with disability.
“The donation is timely considering the problems people with disability in the district are facing,” said Nyamula
He therefore called upon other organizations to emulate the good gesture by MAM.
In his remarks MAM district chair in Xomba Sheikh Dan Konda said they had thought of assisting people with disabilities after being touched by their mobility challenges.
“Let me ask other Islamic organisations in the district to join hands in improving people’s welfare,” asked Sheikh Konda.
Expressing her appreciation one of the beneficiaries Asiyatu Aufi from Mlambala village TA Kumtumanji said the wheel chair will change her life.
“The wheel chair is a solution to mobility hardship she had been going through,”said Aufi.
The wheel chairs were procured with funds from MAM national office and the distribution exercise took place at MAM office in Xomba.
