Government announces eid public holiday on Tuesday

Government has announced that eid-ul-fitr public holiday will be observed Tuesday next week

The announcement has been made by Ministry of local government in a press release made available to Radio Islam

Secretary for the ministry James Chiusiwa says Muslim Association of Malawi advised government that eid-ul fitr prayers will be held either Monday or Tuesday depending on the sighting of the new moon marking the end of the holy month of Ramadhan

“Therefore government advises the public that announcement of the actual sighting of the new moon will be made by Muslim Association of Malawi,” Chiusiwa
