Police cancels media briefing on ACB director inquiries
Malawi Police Service (MPS) has canceled a media briefing scheduled for Monday in relation to inquiries of Director General for Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Martha Chizuma.
Last Friday, police announced that will hold the media briefing after they suspended their interrogation with Chizuma on a leaked audio conversation she had with a yet to be identified person.
However, Deputy Spokesperson for Malawi Police Service, Harry Namwaza, confirmed that the briefing planned for Monday April 25 2022 was canceled.
“This is because of a High Court order stopping police investigating Chizuma,” Namwaza
Reacting to the development Phunziro Mvula said Malawians are in support of Chizuma in the fight against corruption in the country.
He therefore called upon the ACB Director to speed up and take to court some of the high profile corruption cases so that Malawians should see that she is delivering.
