Pupils die in protests over government’s user fees
Two pupils from Chisiyo Primary School in Lilongwe have been hit to death while protesting together with other learners and villagers for unknown reason
However reports indicated that the pupils were demonstrating against government abolished user fees
Lilongwe police received a report that pupils from the school were blocking the by-pass road pelting stones at passing vehicles in protest against their school
The situation got worse when the nearby villagers joined the lawlessness on by-pass road
“When Lilongwe zone one patrol team arrived they found that two boys, one identified as Kelvin Mbewu a standard 3 learner and the other who is yet to be identified were helplessly lying on the road after being hit by unknown motor car,” Chigalu
They were taken to Kamuzu central hospital where death was pronounced upon arrival
