PRIDE to construct schemes in 12 districts

Program for Rural Irrigation Development (PRIDE) project under ministry of agriculture has assured Malawians that the construction of 16 schemes in 12 districts is expected to be finished in December 2023.

Speaking in an interview knowledge management and communications specialist for the project Felix Malamulo said presently they are making sure that all requirements for the project are set.

Malamulo said only 3 schemes are at advanced stage as constructers are working on the ground and the rest are at stages below designing stage.

“There are some challenges encountered, but they already sorted some,” Malamulo

The project started in 2016 with the aid from international fund for agricultural development (IFAD) and is being implemented in Mzimba, Nkhata Bay, Karonga and Chitipa among other districts in northern region.
